Gary studied at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York and graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) Acupuncture from Middlesex University.
He has a particular interest in musculoskeletal issues, pain management and sports injuries and is a qualified level 5 sports massage therapist often incorporating sports massage techniques into his treatments.
He completed an internship in China at Dr Dong's musculo-skeletal clinic in Beihai where he received intensive training in oriental bodywork techniques including tuina medical massage, cupping and gua sha.
He has also completed additional post graduate training in the use of acupuncture to support fertility and the IVF process.
Gary has previously been a volunteer for World Medicine, a charity which provides acupuncture to people around the world suffering the effects of trauma, disaster and poverty, and has travelled to India to support the charity's project in Gujurat.
When not in his Bridlington clinic Gary works as a Clinic Supervisor at the Northern College of Acupuncture.
He is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) and the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), a Professional Standards Authority registered governing body which means that the training received was to the highest standard and assures that all ethical, clinical and safety guidelines are met.
