Gary Carvill
BSc(Hons) LicAc MBAcC

Gary studied at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York and graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) Acupuncture from Middlesex University.

As member of both the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), he combines his knowledge of Traditional East Asian Medicine with modern research and understanding of the human body to provide effective, personalised treatments.

The British Acupuncture Council is the only UK membership organisation for Acupuncturists that has high enough standards of regulation to be registered with the government's Professional Standards Authority (PSA).  All members must be trained to degree level and be subject to standards that ensures all ethical, clinical and safety guidelines are met.  The UK government advises the public to only choose an Acupuncturist who is a members of a PSA accredited register.

Gary has previously studied both western and eastern bodywork traditions and has completed an internship in China at a musculo-skeletal clinic where he received intensive training in techniques such as medical massage, cupping and gua sha.

Gary has a particular interest in treating musculoskeletal issues and has trained with several International sports acupuncture teachers.   He has also completed additional post graduate training in the use of acupuncture to support fertility and the IVF process and has extensive experience of treating a wide variety of conditions including mental and emotional problems, digestive disorders, hormonal and neurological issues.

He has previously been a volunteer for World Medicine, a charity which provides acupuncture to people around the world suffering the effects of trauma, disaster and poverty, and has travelled to India to support the charity's project in Gujurat.

When not in his Bridlington clinic Gary works as a Clinic Supervisor at the Northern College of Acupuncture.
